Regenerative Organic Agriculture

Backgound Mountain Backgound Mountain

Regenerative organic agriculture, going against the grain of conventional farming, is a holistic approach that challenges traditional methods. It emphasizes practices such as minimal use of synthetic inputs and the incorporation of cover crops to promote soil health and biodiversity. Regenerative organic farming lowers agricultural carbon emissions, fighting against the current climate crisis. The long-term benefits, including improved resilience and reduced environmental impact, making regenerative organic agriculture a promising alternative that challenges the status quo.

CLIMATE POSITIVE + CARBON NEGATIVE BY 2025

Our math teachers told us that a positive and a negative could never make an even bigger positive, but we didn’t listen. Let’s do the arithmetic: we’re optimizing distribution, reducing emissions, and offsetting our current emissions to reach carbon-negative by 2025. We’re also using Gold Standard Carbon Credits - the most stringent climate standard in the world - to offset emissions that are 100% additional, and offer secondary development and social benefits beyond carbon (www.goldstandard.org). Carry the one, solve for X, and that equation checks out.

GRAIN FROM RAIN™ COMMITMENT

We trademarked this one because it rhymes, but also because it’s pretty darn cool. See, nearly 100% of the oats in our blends are grown using rain-only water. That means no irrigation from wells or rivers, which saves valuable water and helps keep our rivers and water-table healthy.

ORGANIC

We’re getting a whole lot more organic-er. We’ve been hard at work sourcing more organic, clean ingredients from our local family farmers, and starting in January 2024, all of our product lines will begin transitioning to 100% organic, gluten-free, non-GMO project verified oats by 2025.

THINK GLOBALLY. OAT LOCALLY.

Think Globally oat locally

We utilize local, Canadian and North American ingredients wherever possible. 100% of our oats are grown in Canada. Our flax comes from Alberta. Maple from Quebec. Washington State apples. Currants, walnuts, and almonds from California. Even our boxes and pouches are made locally, by Canadian manufacturers. We like to know where our food comes from, which is why we source from nice people (see our MEET OUR FARMERS™ page to find out more) who live in beautiful spots nearest to our backyard.

THE PICTURE OF HEALTH

...is not located on this page. You’ll have to open up a bag for that, because our oat blends are thoughtfully crafted with high protein, antioxidant rich wholegrain superfoods, and the healthiest, all-natural ingredients that ALSO taste great.
