As my husband would say I'm 82, and I know a good oat, when I taste one!!!!!
Delicous mixture. Oats for breakfast almost every morning, that's what has contributed to good health and longivity. Thanks so much. Your oats no longer available at Costco. Hurry back.
It's pretty amazing what kind of flavours you can get out of such a simple breakfast oatmeal but stoked oats have done it with this Stone Age variety. While stone age is not organic like stoked oats versus regular oatmeal, the inclusion of nuts and seeds in this one offers a wonderful flavour that goes well beyond what you'd get from plain oats. I decided to try this before looking at the ingredients list just to see if I could pick out some of the flavours. I hadn't realized that coconut was included but there was definitely a wonderful taste that I couldn't quite identify and I'm assuming it's the coconut. This oatmeal is not sweetened so it doesn't have that over-the-top processed oatmeal flavour which I love. This also allows you to add a sweetener if you choose, but I don't think it's necessary if you're adding things like banana or other fruit to the mix. I've been making this both in the microwave and using boiling water with excellent results. While the instructions on the package don't say that this can be used as overnight oats, the product listing does. I love pretty much everything about this product from the simple ingredients, the fact that many of the ingredients are grown in Canada, the fact that the company seems to have a wonderful sense of humour, and the fact that it tastes so wonderful. The only criticism that I have is that it is quite expensive. If you've already been eating oatmeal that includes nuts or other varieties of ingredients, you'll probably end up paying the same amount anyway. The only oatmeal that I tend to find as expensive as this one is organic oatmeal.
